Course Description
Professional audits require
competent, well led teams. This comprehensive lead auditor course, run by registered lead
auditor(s) provides practical training to acquire the skills to audit
effectively and manage a team of auditors. The course is based on ISO 19011,
the internationally recognised guide for auditing quality and environmental
management systems and ISO 9001: 2000. It fully meets the training requirements
for IRCA registration as an auditor and lead auditor. Delegates who
successfully complete the course obtain a certificate recognised
internationally by IRCA (International Register of Certified Auditors).

Course Structure
The course is structured around a series of
practical build-up modules which cover:
- ISO 9001: 2000 and its application to a
wide range of manufacturing and service organisations
- The international guidance for auditing
quality management systems – ISO 19011
- Planning an audit including review of the
quality manual and other documentation, preparation of checklists and audit
plans
- Carrying out an opening meeting with senior
management
- Carrying out an audit using case study and
role play techniques
- Analysing
and reporting the audit findings, and rating them in order of
significance
- Organising and carrying out a closing
meeting with the senior management
- Determining the effectiveness of corrective
and preventive actions
- Routine surveillance activities
We use the latest accelerated learning
techniques throughout the course. These have been proved to considerably
improve knowledge retention.

The
course is intensive and involves some evening work. We strongly recommend that
delegates have accommodation for the full duration of the course. We have made
special arrangements with our venues to provide accommodation to suit individual
tastes and budgets. Our courses are run in high quality

Certified Compliant Course
This course is registered by the International Register of Certified Auditors
(IRCA) and meets the training requirements for registration as an auditor and lead auditor
with them (syllabus IRCA 2245).
Successful completion of the Lead Auditor
course fulfils the train requirements, but the regulators also require
demonstration of successful auditing for registration as Auditor and Lead
Auditor. We offer a service of accompanying the auditors, usually on audits of
their suppliers, and in addition to providing our own auditing experience will
endorse the audit log sheets and other registration documentation. Back to top
